Ghana’s current Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has been selected as the next Secretary-General of the Commonwealth at the 2024 Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM 2024) in Apia, Samoa.
Honorable Botchwey emerged victorious against strong contenders, including Gambia’s Foreign Minister – Momodou Tangara, and Senator Joshua Setipa of Lesotho.
