His remarks underscored the dual purpose of the expo: facilitating economic development, while strengthening cultural ties. “This expo represents not just an investment opportunity, but a reconnection of the diaspora with their roots”, he said.

The Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, delivered the keynote address. In his address he said “Our urban population stands at 59% and is growing at 3.3% annually”, he stated. “While we have reduced the housing deficit from 2.8 million to 1.8 million units, this gap, coupled with our growing urban population, offers tremendous investment potential”.

The Minister stressed that Ghana’s government is implementing strategic measures to address land acquisition challenges, streamline the land tenure system, and improve contract efficiency – all designed to make property investment more accessible to the diaspora. He further informed the gathering of the Ghana Government’s District Housing Project, which would enable the Diasporas to own homes in their hometown, bringing them closer to their roots.
“Ghana is open for business”, declared Minister Adjei, highlighting the country’s growing economy, political stability, and strategic location. “The housing sector is not just about putting roofs over heads; it’s a symbol of stability, security, and comfort, tied to the quality of life and health of our citizens”.
