United In Faith: A Morning Of Reflection At The Embassy Of Ghana In The USA COGPAC– USA Holds Breakfast Meeting

The Council of Ghanaian Churches and Pastors (COGPAC-USA) held their annual Breakfast meeting at the Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC on Thursday July 18, 2024.In attendance were the Ambassador, Heads of Department of the Mission and other home based staff. The breakfast meeting was the second of such meetings lined up by the Council and was aimed at updating the Ambassador on the activities of the Council since its inauguration on October 30, 2021.
The 15 member delegation of Pastors briefed Ambassador Hajia Alima Mahama and her staff on their activities over the last two years amidst challenges and achievements. In his Opening Remarks, Bishop Evans Glover, the President of COGPAC reflected on the significance of the gathering. “In a world that often emphasizes our differences,” he said, “this prayer breakfast is a powerful reminder that our shared values and common humanity are far stronger. Let us carry this spirit of unity and understanding into our work and our daily lives.”

On her part, Her Excellency Alima Mahama expressed her appreciation to the Council and commended them for sustaining the Organization since its inauguration in 2021. She shared with the COGPAC delegation an update on significant developments in Ghana and the Embassy, concerning the upcoming registration of Ghanaians in the United States for the National Identification Card (Ghana Card), major improvements in service delivery for visas and passports at the Embassy and the positive collaborative efforts between the Ghanaian community in various states she had visited and the Embassy.
A serene and reflective atmosphere took over the Embassy’s reception hall as the Pastors prayed for the Ambassador and staff, Ghana and the United States as a whole. At the end of the meeting, there were cordial and fruitful interactions between the Ambassador and COGPAC members.
The mission of the COGPAC is to facilitate a united vision of Ghanaian Christian faith in the United States of America through collaborative activities and community programs. At the end of the meeting the attendees enjoyed a buffet breakfast and took photographs.
