Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States of America, H.E. Hajia Alima Mahama, has pledged to set up a strategy advisory board to assist her during her tenure.

The Ambassador made the pronouncement during her address to the Ghanaian community in a video message the Embassy put out. The role would be to provide strategic advice to the Ambassador and the Government on how we can harness and leverage numerous investment and trade opportunities in the United States. “Elaborating on the concept, the Ambassador said, “We must begin to look at how we can do more by leveraging the skills and talents of Ghanaians here in the United States to drive huge strategic investments to our country. That is why I plan to set up the first-ever Advisory Board composed of well accomplished Ghanaians from various backgrounds and industries.”

The Ambassador also encouraged Ghanaian associations in various states in America to work closely with the Embassy to advance trade and investments.”Aside from building cohesive communities, maintaining and promoting our culture, various Ghanaian groupings must also become trade and investment agents and work close with the Embassy’s trade office promote and drive investments to Ghana, the Ambassador propounded.

Lastly, the ambassador exhibited her commitment to women and children and promised to work closely with women centered organizations to develop Ghanaian women in the United States and Ghana. “As a gender activist, who has spent years advocating for the improvement in the quality of life and rights of women and children and as the first woman Ambassador of Ghana to the United States, I intend to work very closely with women centered organizations to advance the growth and development of Ghanaian women in the United States and Ghana,” she said.
