Worcester State University and Ghana Sign MOU to Collaborate with Higher Education Institutions in Ghana

On Tuesday, March 11, 2024,  a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Ghana and Worcester State University to expand the University’s connections with Ghana through educational and research collaborations with Ghanaian institutions. The agreement also include exchange programmes with faculty and peer post-secondary institutions and /or high schools.

Her Excellency Ambassador Hajia Alima Mahama and  President Barry M. Maloney signed for Ghana and Worcester State University respectively at the Chancery of the Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC. President Maloney was accompanied by Dr. Anthony Adade, Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Worcester State University. The MOU was signed in the presence of Hon. Ken Asafo-Adjei, Honorary Consul-designate of Ghana in Massachusetts, and Staff of the Embassy of Ghana.

Ambassador Alima Mahama, met with President Barry M. Maloney, Provost Lois Wims, and other University representatives at Worcester State University on July 14, 2023, to discuss ways to collaborate with Ghana through education and research . Among the programmes discussed were the Early College Programme which helps high school students prepare for higher education while also allowing them to earn college credits.
